Influenced by The Birthday Party, Suicide and 90s rockers Oblivians and Jon Spencer Blues Explosion, POSITION NUIT combines vicious garage punk riffs with the defiant attitude of 80s post punk, the raw expression of soul music and the sheer abandon of rockabilly in a mix that, well, is just easier to call rock’n’roll.

Their live shows are a raw, intense and engaging experience, or as John Robb of Louder Than War puts it best, a ‘jet-propelled garage rock shakedown’. Other unknowns with a drinking problem but great taste in music also call them their ‘favorite band in LA’. And despite the unhealthy habits, I really can’t blame them.

Formed in 2022, POSITION NUIT has opened for Kid Congo, David J., Lydia Lunch, Escapism, Automatic... until they had to stop sometime in 2024, lay low for a while and deal with legal issues that are too complex for a rock'n'roll fan to comprehend (this means you). But that’s all sorted out now and after making a comeback early 2026, they’ve since released their debut single 'The Filthiest / The Body' and recently supported Bloodshot Bill, Plage Vendor and Toody Cole of Dead Moon. Their first 7” record ‘Collection of Crosses / 3:33’ will be released in December 2026 on Psylk Rd.
